Mexico mostly rely on the military to fight against the drug related violence and the crimes from organizations. However, while the army forces are trying to enforce the law they, themselves gravely violated the human rights of the people. From January 2007 to mid November 2012, Mexico's National Human Rights Commission had kept reports of their actions. There were 109 cases where members of the army had committed serious human rights violations and 7,350 military abuses complaints were received.

The main reason why the military abuses continue is because the soldiers who violate the law are never brought through justice. Additionally, its because the cases are investigated and prosecuted in the military justice system.
