The SNCC was one of the organizations of the Civil rights movement through the 1961 freedom rides. The actions of SNCC forced the Kennedy Administration to temporarily provide protection form angry mobs. After the freedom rides the SNCC mainly focused on voting registration and getting rid of segregated public facilities.By 1965 the SNCC hosted the largest staff in a civil rights organization and created a direct action against segregated facilities and voting registrations, as well as giving urgency to the movement of women's liberation.
