Cesar Chavez

Cesar Chavez was an Latin American farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights activist and also (with Dolores Huerta) co-founded the National Farm Workers Association (later the United F arm Workers union). He employed nonviolent means to bring attention to the plight of farm workers. He fought for an increase of farmer wages, better working environments, and the safety of farm workers As a labor leader, he led marches, called for boycotts and went on many hunger strikes, refusing to eat until violence against strikers ended until legislators voted to make laws improving the life of farmers
